Egyptian sphinx statue sculpture of Nepherites 1st, 398-392 BC, 29th Dynasty. Louvre Museum inv A26 or N 26. Royal sphinx (lying down, nemes hairstyle). Inscribed Nepherites I and Horus. Transported to Rome during antiquity the sphinx was descovered in the Villa Borghese gardens 16th century. Basalt. Height: cm; Width: cm; Depth: cm. Located in the North staircase landing.
