The Ponte del Mare or Bridge of the Sea, a cycle-pedestrian cable-stayed bridge located in the city of Pescara, Abruzza, Italy.

The Ponte del Mare or Bridge of the Sea, a cycle-pedestrian cable-stayed bridge located in the city of Pescara, Abruzza, Italy is the largest Italian cycle-pedestrian bridge and one of thelargest in Europe. Designed by the South Tyrolean architect Walter Pichler it connects the southern coast with the northern one of the Aterno-Pescara river, allowing the continuity of the Green Adriatic Corridor to be created, a cycle path that runs along the entire Adriatic coast from Ravenna to Santa Maria di Leuca. The bridge, equipped with a slightly inclined central pylon, consists of two separate branches, a cycle track three meters wide and a pedestrian path four wide, supported by a series of inclined tie rods that rejoin the pylon.
