Belle Epoque period poster art. A poster designed for serialized novels appearing in Le Journal. Les Mystères de la tour Pointue was a series of crime stories written by a former chief of police. The image is from the first story, L'affaire Joizel, in which a woman is accused of killing her husband. Art by Théophile Alexandre Steinlen (November 10, 1859 – December 13, 1923). He was a Swiss-born French Art Nouveau painter and printmaker.
