Qianling Mausoleum, Shaanxi, China. Guardian soldier on spirit path to tomb of Tang Dynasty emperor Li Zhi and empress Wu Zetian


Head of one of the 1200 year old carved stone guardian soldiers known as Shi Ong Zhong which line the spirit path leading to the tomb of Tang Dynasty emperor Gao Zong also called Li Zhi and empress Wu Zetian also called Wu Zhao at the Qianling Mausoleum 80k northwest of Xian. Li Zhi ruled from 649 to 683. Wu Zetain ruled from 684 to 705.
