CORONAVIRUS, TEM

Coronavirus is an RNA virus belonging to the coronaviridae family. This virus measures 75 to 160 nanometers in diameter. The nucleus lies within a nucleocapsid which in turn lies within a lipoprotein envelope. The outer surface of the virus has a crown shape. Coronaviruses infect both humans and animals and cause different diseases. In humans, inhalation of the coronavirus is a cause of common cold. Contamination of the gut by ingestion can cause gastroenteritis.
