STRAIT (Aug. 15, 2018) Civil service mariners assigned to the Spearhead-class expeditionary fast transport ship USNS Carson City (T-EPF 7) observe the country of Turkey as the ship transits the Dardanelles Strait Aug. 15, 2018. Carson City is the seventh of nine expeditionary fast transport ships in Military Sealift Command's inventory with a primary mission of providing rapid transport of military equipment and personnel in theater via its 20,000 square foot reconfigurable mission bay area and seating for 312 passengers.
