We happened to be the first di-rector of this enterprise and the fact thatit survived at all during the first stormyyears is due in a large measure to stu-dents like Margaret Kerr who had thevision, the courage, and the enduranceto see it through. After serving as school nurse atNanaimo for two years, Miss Kerr wasthe recipient of a Rockefeller Founda-tion scholarship which enabled her to undertake post-graduate study and ob-servation in the United
