Fahua vase, Ming dynasty, China, c1500. A small pottery Fahua vase of pear shape. The slender body is decorated on either side with a stylised lotus spray. The large single bloom is flecked in aubergine within a radiating scrolling foliage picked out in bright turquoise on the overall deep aubergine ground.
