The bridges were The standard tubular poles are made of three sections oflap welded tubing, the sections being hot-swaged togetherwith not less than 18-in. overlap at the joint. The specifi-cations required that the poles satisfy the following oper-ating conditions: Pole spacing, 120 ft.; pole length, 30 ft.,with 6ft. set in concrete on two pieces of 2-in. x 12-in. x 24-in. redwood ; diameter of steel messenger, 7/16 in.; diameter.
