Located on the Stavanger Peninsula in Southwest Norway, Stavanger counts its official founding year as 1125, the year the Stavanger Cathedral was completed. But now it is bristling with high-tech nautical, oil and defence industries. In particular, it is regarded as NorwayÕs oil capital. Here we see its modern marina bridge. Stavanger City Bridge (Stavanger bybru) is a 1067m cable-stayed bridge which, unusually, has only one tower.
