Acute myeloid leukaemia

The examination of a patient with acute myeloid leukaemia, a myelosis in which the main cellular disturbance concerns the myeloblasts and myelocytes. Symptoms include unusual bleeding caused by a reduction in the number of platelets; this may include bruising appearing without any apparent injury and blood like spots called petechiae.
