Basic cadet trainees with the Air Force Academy's Class of 2013 participate in the tug of war during Field Day activities here today. About 1,344 trainees competed in various athletic events during Field Day, including tug of war, log relays, steeple chase and sprint relays. Basic cadet training started June 25 and continues through Aug. 1, 2009. The new cadets are in their first month of training and are learning about Air Force heritage, honor, discipline and Air Force core values, in addition to improving physical fitness.
