In Bostonhe presented his letters and for a time eked outa scanty livelihood playing in the orchestra ofthe Boston Theatre. Then, with the help of hissociety friends, he founded Papantis dancingacademy. For a long term of years the littleassembly room at 23 Tremont Street, oppositethe old Boston Museum, was the scene of manyjuvenile trials and youthful triumphs. Forthere the two Papantis, father and son, succes-sively taught little slippered feet to glide andnot stumble, and awkward but well-meaningBoston youths how to bear themselves withcourtly grace.
