Baryon decuplet. Diagram organising spin-3/2 baryons into an decuplet according to their charge and strangeness. Particles along the same diagonal line share the same charge; positive (+1, +2), neutral (0), or negative (-1). Particles along the same horizontal line share the same strangeness. Strangeness is a quantum property that is conserved in strong and electromagnetic interactions, between particles, but not in weak interactions. Baryons are made up of three quarks. Particles with a strangeness of 0, such as the delta baryons (blue) in the top line, contain no strange quarks. Particles with a strangeness of -1, such as the sigma baryons (green) in the second line, contain one strange quark. Particles with a strangeness of -2, such as the xi baryons (pink) in the third line, contain two strange quarks. Particles with a strangeness of -3, such as the omega baryon (yellow) in the bottom line, contain three strange quarks.
