Marsh Thistle ( Cirsium palustre ) with spiders web .Importance of this plant in the development of the Knepp Rewilding project in providing developing micro habitats that in turn produce food for birds and mammals .Hence the ecology of the site changes and develops , which is how rewilding works. Kneep estate has converted 3,500acres of wheat farmland into rewilded habitats with huge numbers of new wildlife species for West Sussex which are generally declining elsewhere nationally .
