Proteins in the fat body and ovaries The results of electrophoretic separations of the protein in the fat body and ovaries of experimental animals are summarized in Tables I and II, and indicate the following : 1. The ovaries of adults contain proteins 4B and 5A. The ovaries of pupae and of JH-injected second pupae, in contrast, contain protein 5A, but do not contain protein 4B. 2. The blood of female pupae. 0-17-day developing adults, and JH-injected second pupae contains proteins 4B and 5A. The blood of adult females contains protein 5A, but does not contain protein 4B.
