The air rifle industry in the village of Pare, in Indonesia


Hundreds of people in the village of Pare, Kediri, Indonesia live from producing air rifles. In this village there are at least 20 rifle makers. Pare rose to fame as a producer of rifles since 1967. Villagers learned to make the rifles from the village of Cipacing, West Java, which has been making guns since 1960. Air rifles uses a pneumatic system with air pressure. The rifle on the market has an average caliber of mm to mm.
