Army Spc. Pual Berzinas bounds forward while reacting to simulated direct fire during the warrior tasks portion of the Hawaii Best Warrior Competition March 4, 2017. The grueling three-day competition tested Soldiers on numerous warrior tasks, and included several events designed to test each Soldier’s mental and physical endurance. Spc. Berzinas’ performance during the competition earned him the title of the 2017 Hawaii Army National Guard Soldier of the year.
