Zoodohos Pigi -also called Chryssopigi- is a female monastery built in 1690 on the edge of a cliff over the Aegean, and considered an important shrine for locals. Chryssopigi was a refuge for the inhabitants each time Sikinos was raided by the pirates, that is why for security reasons it was constructed to look like a castle surrounded by high walls
