Ichthyosaur (possibly Stenopterygius sp.) skull found in Lorraine, France, from the Toarcian age (180 million years). The skull was originally crushed by sediment compaction, and trapped in rock. To obtain this 3D hollowed-out skull, each bone is prepared one by one, then the skull is reassembled in 3D. This skull measures 50 cm long. Collection Jean-Philippe et Francois-Xavier Blouet, paleontologists.
