A portrait of murderer Caleb Powers (1869-1932)accused of being an accomplice in the murder of Governor William Goebel. Goebel, nicknamed "Boss Bill", "the Kenton King", "Kenton Czar", "King William I", and "William the Conqueror" was a United States Representative from Kentucky and the first Secretary of State of Kentucky convicted as an accessory to murder. Goebel is still the only state governor in the United States to be assassinated whilst in office.
