Perseid meteor shower over a yurt, Xinjiang, China

Perseid meteor shower taking place over a yurt in the Nalati Grassland, Xinjiang, China. This is a prolific meteor shower associated with the comet Swift–Tuttle. The meteors are called the Perseids because they appear from the general direction of the constellation Perseus. The stream of debris consists of particles ejected by the comet as it travels on its 133-year orbit. The Milky Way is seen at centre. Photographed on 14 August 2019.
