At the third week all dressings should be removed,and gentle massage applied to the whole leg from toes togroin, especial attention being paid to the region of the and gentle passive motion in an anteroposterior direc-tion only should be applied at least once or twice daily after thesecond week. All lateral motion is to be avoided. After thefifth or sixth week a flannel bandage will be all the supportneeded, although comfort may demand a thin, stiff, retentive.
