The posteroventral angle of the subopercle is sharply produced backward (and slightly downward). The interorbital width is least above front of pupil; least suborbital width, (to ) in postor- bital. The maxillary subtends the anterior two-thirds of the orbital length. Bands of fine teeth occur on the jaws; the outer premax- illary series is not enlarged. Six branchiostegals. The gill-mem- branes form a narrow free fold across the isthmus. The anus is located near the origin of the anal fin, the interspace being contained (to ) times in the distance between the anus and the base of the outer ventral ray, which is contained (to ) times in the postorbital length of the head. The distance between the outer ventral ray and the isthmus is slightly shorter than the dis- tance between the anus and the ventral fin (slightly longer in one paratype).
