The fibula is divided firstwith an osteotome entered through a puncture over thefibula, and next the tibia is divided in the same bones being divided, the deformity is corrected andthe limb put up in a plaster-of-Paris dressing in the cor-rected position. Osteotomy may also be employed tocorrect deformities in other bones, or for the deformityresulting from fractures united in faulty position.
