The La Fortuna Waterfall stands out as being one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Costa Rica, flowing from the Fortuna River and its small streams which originate in the park’s mountains. The waterfall is 70 meters high and located in a biological reserve of tropical wet forest, part of the Arenal Volcano National Park. The hike down to the La Fortuna Waterfall consists of 500 steps. During this hike you will observe plants, trees, and possibly animals, including sloths, toucans, golden orioles, and butterflies.
