Within a few years this Hotel has had the honour of receiving the patronage of the late Queen Dowager, the King of Saxony, the Prince of Prussia, the Grand Duke Constantine of Russia, and most of the principal English and Foreign Families of distinc- tion visiting this romantic and interesting district. It is situated close upon the Lake, of which it commands extensive views, and within an easy day's excursion of all the principal Lakes and Mountains of the district. Conveyances of every description kept. Omnibusses meet every Train at the Terminus of the Kendal and Windermere Railway, one mile and a-half from Bowness, and Private Carriages if required. Bowness is within ten and a-half hours of London, four and a-half of Manchester and Liverpool.
