An old reservoir at the rock fortress of Sigiriya, a mound of rock made capital of Sri Lanka by King Kasyapa in the 4th century. Abandoned after the king's death, the fortress was used as a Buddhist monastery until the 14th century. It now has World Heritage status and is one of the best examples of ancient urban planning in the in black and white.
