The mainbuilding is divided by a brick wall into an engine room, 87ft. long by 34 ft. wide, and a boiler room, 87 ft. long by 45 ; the engine room floor is some 6 ft. higher than the boil-er room, which allows for the carrying of exhaust pipes, andalso connecting cables underneath the main floor. The boiler room has installed in it at present four boilers,in two batteries of two boilers each, and additional room fortwo more boilers of the same capacity. The boilers are of theBabcock & Wilcox manufacture, each having a heating sur-face of 1426 sq. ft., and grate area of 28 sq. ft.
