Isle of Iona, Scotland. Picturesque silhouetted view of St John’s Cross with St Martin’s Cross in the background. St John’s Cross is a replica of the original cross which is thought to date from as early as the 8th century. Pieces of the original cross are on display within the abbey. Founded by St Columba the historic site dates from AD 563 with the restored medieval abbey dating from the 13th century.
