The Loughborough Carillon was the first grand Carillon in Britain and was built as a War Memorial by public subscription in memory of the 480 men of the town who died in WW1. It was erected in 1923 and has 47 bells which were cast at John Taylor's Bell Foundry, Loughborough, Leicestershire.
