Earthquake Damage around Kaiapoi, just north of Christchurch, New Zealand, magnitude, 4th September 2010: These photos were taken 10 years later.
The earthquake destroyed hundreds of residential homes in Kaiapoi, and the land was deemed too unstable for housing, so entire neighbourhoods were cleared: called "Red Zones". The trees and shrubs were once in people's gardens and hedges.
