The US aircraft carrier USS FRANKLIN listing to starboard on 19 March 1945. The Franklin was hit by two bombs which caused major damage to the carrier. In this photo the ship is listing ti starboard and there are many men on deck waiting to hear if they have to abandon ship. The Franklin did not sink nd returned to the USA for repair. The ship was decommissioned in 1947 and scrapped in 1966.
