, Nancy, Departement Meurthe-et-Moselle, France - Monument of Stanislaw Leszczynski at Place Stanislas. Leszczynski was the king of Poland in the years 1704-09 in place of August II the Strong. However, elected King of Poland again in 1733 Stanislaw could not make his way in the War of the Polish Succession and was forced to emigrate. After abdicating the Polish throne he was compensated in 1737 with Duchy of Lorraine and Bar. Nancy thanked him with Europe's most beautiful architectural ensemble - Place Stanislas, Place de la Carriere and Place d'Alliance, which were included in 1983 in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
