This photograph is part of a batch showing work carried out by Laing's Highways Branch during the construction of part of the Potteries D Road or Stoke D Road on the A500. A stretch of dual carriageway running from near Talke to Etruria in Stoke-on-Trent was constructed by the company, with work starting in October 1970.
