Coquerel's sifaka (Propithecus coquereli) in a tree. Coquerel's sifaka is a lemur found in the rainforests of Madagascar, feeding on fruits, flowers, bark and leaves. It lives in small groups of between 5 and 10 individuals. The sifaka is named for its distinctive 'shi-fak' alarm call, which is used to warn members of the group when predators are near. Destruction of the forests of Madagascar means that Coquerel's lemur is becoming increasingly rare. Photographed in Madagascar.
