Weas hardwaremen must get our ideas into the minds of ourcustomers. Salesmanship consists to a great extent, ingiving ideas to customers, and possible customers. First of all, we must get ideas of our merchandiseinto the minds of our customers. That is what we arein business for. If it were not for that, a slot machinecould do the work. Salesmanship consists in giving ideas. to the customer, to appeal to the senses, not only the eyesand hearing, but the other senses as well. And in thisconnection the show window is, or should be playing animportant part. One of the best mediums at the disposal of the re-tailer is the show window. If properly used, the showwindow will not only attract many new customers, but itwill greatly increase sales of goods to regular in displays is one of the prime necessities,and in this connection show cards can be made to play animportant function. There are many ways in whichshow cards can be effectively used. The suggestion shownhere represents only one method of using show cards. Many of the more progressive hardware stores haveadopted the use of show cards and have experienced asubstantial revenue from them.
