In landscape with inn, trees & plants & dogs, a group of people with child is gathered around table with food (L); a couple is dancing while man, standing on table, plays the violin (R) (BRD) pole with garland of flowers & acanthus leaves framing cabochon centered with rosette in corners; (LWR BRD) fringe attached to bottom of lower border GCPA 0243215 & 0184448 show 2 halves of a hanging, reversed. This scene is part of the Country Sports series (Cavallo). The verso of the photograph indicates that the 2 fragments were used as portières before they were sewn together, & adds that they were "lined with 16th century, antique green velvet." It is not clear when the fragments were sewn, but it probably happened after April 30,1958 (Soustelle).
