Valley moves somewhat slowly; so do callas and lilies, both speciosums and longiflorums. There is an abundance of wallflowers, English primroses, pansies, bachelor's buttons and dimorphothecas. Other flowers seen in considerable numbers are acacias, amaryllis, lilacs and imantophyllums. Acacia is much used in window decorations. Pot plant trade is somewhat im- proved, but lacks the activity general at this season in past years. There is a strong demand for bedding gera- niums to grow on, but rooted carna- tion cuttings do not move so well as usual. Various Notes. The J. A. Budlong & Son Co., of Auburn, E. I,, is strong just now on Killarney Queen, Ophelia, Shawyer and Double White Killarney. Their Beau- ties, which were abundant when prices were high, are now off crop. Their Sunburst and Killarney Brilliant are good, while they have a fine quartet of dark roses in Prince d'Arenberg, Hadley, Richmond and Black Beauty, or Crimson Queen. The Gardeners' and Florists' Club will hold the next meeting, March 16, as rose night. This comes only two days before the opening of the Boston spring flower show and the meeting of the American Rose Society. Banquet tickets are selling fast and will soon be exhausted.
