The same guests were also received by the Senate on the same day. KitCarson was received here but a short time before his death. Queen Kapiolani, of Hawaii, was tendered a reception by the House in 1887. She was accom-panied by Gen. Dominis, her husband, Princess Liliuokalani, who afterwards became queen, and otherdistinguished guests. Ex-President R. B. Hayes presided over the prison convention held here in 1888.
