Sow in drills 30 inches apart, on rich, well prepared ground early in spring. Cultivate well and thin to 8 inches in the row. For winter, store in pits or cellar as soon as heavy frost is feared. From four to six pounds will sow an acre. LANE'S IMPERIAL SUGAR. The most popular beet raised for feeding cows or young stock and contains a greater percentage of sugar than the ordinary variety. From thirty to forty tons have been raised on an acre. Per oz. 10 cts., lb. 25 cts., lb. 75 cts.; not prepaid, 5 lbs. $ GIANT HALF SUGAR. This variety combines best qualities of the Sugar Beet and Mangels. It is a heavy yielder, easily grown and harvest- ed as a crop of mangels. Being much sweeter they are of much higher nutritive value. The roots grow partly out of the ground, they are very large, smooth, clean and of oval shape. The flesh is white, succulent, sweet and unex- celled in feeding qualities- Per oz. 10 cts., lb. 25 cts., lb. 75 cts., by express, 5 lbs. $
