Spacelab-J experiment. Payload Specialist Dr Mamoru Mohri making observations in an experiment in the Spacelab-J science module during Shuttle Mission STS-47. The experiment was entitled "Studies of the Effects of Microgravity on the Ultrastructure and Functions of Cultured Mammalian Cells". This was one of the 43 life and materials science experiments in the joint NASA/Japan Spacelab-J module. Mohri was the first Japanese crew member of a NASA flight. STS-47 flew on Shuttle Endeavour from 12 to 20 September 1992.
