Anglo Norman Castle on the River Suir in South Tipperary Ireland. Stronghold of the Butler Family before they moved to Kilkenny Castle/ Featured in the John Boorman Film Excalibur. The Castle was constructed in 1142 by Connor O'Brien the Prince of Thomond, this was BEFORE the Norman invasion of Ireland. The Castle would eventually pass into the Earldom of the Butler Family.
