The largest altarpiece, retablo, reredos, in the world in Seville Cathedral, Catedral Sevilla Spain.

The altarpiece of the Seville Cathedral was built between 1481 and 1565 and depicts the life of Jesus Christ on carved wood, decorated with gold leaf and polychrome. The huge scale of the work, which has a total size of 20 by (65 x 77ft) makes this altarpiece the largest in the world. The initial work was done by Flemish sculptor Master Pieter (Pierre) Dancart of Lille (1482-1492). Many more worked on it: Pedro Millan and Master Marco, as well as others of unknown identity. However, most of the altarpiece work seems to have been performed by the brothers Jorge and Alejo Fernández Alemán, respectively sculptor and painter, who have worked on it for 20 years from 1508 on, shaping most of its current form. The style of the core is Gothic, with Renaissance on the sides and the upper parts. Recent extensive restoration took several years and ended in 2014.
