Joan Miro (1893-1983) was a Catalan Spanish artist influenced by Surrealism. He is known for his paintings, collages, ceramics, and bronze sculptures. In his paintings he favored bold primary colors and abstract or biomorphic forms that can at times evoke cave drawings, playfully naive doodles, or sexual symbols.
