The secondary battery will includefour 6-pdr. and four 3-pdr. rapid-fire guns and two 37mm. ( in.) revolving cannon. No. 6, whichwill be a duplicate of No. 5, will be launched early in theyear, and both ships will be ready for service early inthe summer of 1892. The Mac/lias is a steel gunboat of the following dimen-sions : Length on load water-line, 190 ft. ; beam, 32 ft. ;mean draft, 12 ft. ; displacement, 1,050 tons.
