All soft roasters handled by Mr. Curtiss are dressed athis home plant and are sold on special orders to dealers inthe Boston market, who handle high class trade. Numer-ous other dealers do a more or less extensive business inthe same line and some few growers ship direct to marketthemselves. This firm has a capacityfor handling 15,000 live fowls daily, and during the pastyear has been doing an extensive soft roaster trade, buyingthe birds alive and selling direct to consumers the freshkilled daily-dressed birds. To them we are indebted forthe following prices actually paid by them for soft-roastersalive from April 17th to July 24th 1908 and 1909. We aretold that the supply has always been short and that theyhad not found it possible to get enough first-quality softmeated roasting
