In1902 school buildings were erected at a cost of about $40,000. Congdon, , who hadresigned from the commissionership to contest the seat. During the summer of 1905 the Honourable Frank Oliver,Minister of the Interior, visited Dawson. Mr. Oliver was thefirst minister of the Crown who had visited the Territory,and he was accorded a very cordial reception.
