A model 1832 helmet for cuirassier officers., Polished, silvered two-piece steel skull. A silver-plated comb bearing a a gilt lion finely embossed in half relief. A crowned cipher "L" on the front plate. Lower section and peaks covered with sealskin, fitted with embossed silver-plated oak leaves. Silver cockade on a gilded oak leaf branch. Silver-plated chinscales. Leather and silk lining, bearskin crest. A magnificent replica of a helmet from the reign of Ludwig I, which was only worn in this style for ten years. Cf.
