Baring its teeth. CABO SANN LUCAS, MEXICO: STUNNING images of a mako shark, smiling cheekily, showing off its teeth have been captured from inches image of the 72-inch mako shark shows the shark gently approaching the camera before giving a toothy smile inches from the diver. Another image shows the 350-pound shark being redirected by the camera as it got too close to the diver for comfort. Ocean Expedition Leader and Founder of Apex Ocean Divers Alexander Schmidt Marquez (31) from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico captured the toothy smiles of a mako shark inches from the camera. These images were captured six miles offshore in the Cabo San Lucas, pacific ocean, Mexico. Alexander was diving for 35-minutes with one mako shark that swam so close to the diver that he had to be redirected with his camera. 984-feet deep into the ocean, Alexander captured the mako swimming peacefully around the diver and smiling its crooked teeth at the camera. Alexander has worked with sharks for over six years so knew that the shark was not displaying threatening behaviour, even though mako sharks are known as the fastest shark in the sea and one of the smartest due to being one of three species that can pump warm blood into their brain. ?Mako sharks are the fastest shark in the sea, and one of the three species of sharks that can pump warm blood to the brain, they are particularly smarter and badass,? he said. ?Sharks are vital to the balance of the ocean, therefore vital for the world. ?Doing this, we break myths and the hate on sharks that was produced by the media and movies for many many years and shark diving is one step closer to protecting sharks from extinction. ?Mako sharks are usually fast swimmers, this one was doing a lot of gentle passes. ?I?ve been working shark diving for more than six years, so we are prepared for such encounters. It was exciting and ENDS mediadrumimages/@alexsharks_
